Our network team provides core network services to all faculty and staff members. Our technical support staff is also available for each service through our Service Desk along with direct contact to the systems administrator group. Email is available to all faculty and staff members of the School of Business Administration which will provide users with messaging and calendar functionality. In addition, e-mail addresses can be created for programs or departments (For example, mba@bus.miami.edu).

Outlook Web Access (OWA) is available through the following secure logon page:

Supported on all modern browsers.

Outlook Web Access provides access to your Exchange email messages, calendar and contact information by using a Web browser.


The VPN serves as a gateway into the School of Business from the internet at large. Through use of the VPN members of the school of business can access their Network Drives and their Exchange Email from home. VPN users can also remote desktop directly to their own computer.

In order to have real time access to your email and other network resources from home, you must connect to the School of Business Administration SSL VPN connection by clicking on the following link:

Once you have entered the web address you will be prompt to log in you must use the same login credentials that you use to log into your workstation.

Terminal Server URL and Access Information

A terminal server allows the end user the ability to log into a generic Windows desktop. Within this desktop, a user can access their network drives, access any Microsoft Office application including Outlook, print to network printers and browse internal websites like the Intranet Site.

The steps to connect to the server are as follows:

  1. Click the Start Button
  2. Click All Programs
  3. Click Accessories
  4. If you see the Remote Desktop Connection program, click it.  Otherwise, click on the Communications folder and click it in there
  • Once the program is open, type in the following address:


    From there, it is as simple as just authenticating on the system once you hit the Connect button.
